Pakistan court acquits four over Marriott attack

(AFP) A Pakistani anti-terrorism court on Wednesday acquitted the four men put on trial over the 2008 suicide bombing of the five-star Marriott hotel in Islamabad, their lawyer told AFP.

“The prosecution failed to prove the case and the judge acquitted all the four men,” defence lawyer Daud Burki told AFP by telephone.

He quoted the judge as saying that the prosecution had “badly failed” to prove the case against those on trial “therefore all accused are acquitted”.
