Scott Horton: “Rules for Drone Wars: Six Questions for Philip Alston”

Scott Horton interviewed the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Extrajudicial, Summary or Arbitrary Executions, NYU law professor Philip G. Alston, on his study on targeted killings, issued last week. In the interview Alston discussed issues including the legality of drone warfare, the crime of “homicide in violation of the law of war” (relevant in the trial of Omar Khadr), the doctrine of self-defense, the death of three Guantanamo detainees.
